TCN Announces Ogun Power Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a six-hour power outage in parts of Ogun State on Thursday, May 14, 2026, as engineers carry out maintenance on a transformer at the McPherson Transmission Substation to improve electricity supply.

According to a statement posted on its official X handle, the outage will last from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will affect residents in McPherson, University and Ogunmakin communities.

TCN said the maintenance involves preventive checks on the 40MVA 132/33KV transformer to ensure efficient performance and reduce unexpected faults on the transmission network.

The company added that the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to supply power to the affected areas during the exercise.

TCN apologised to residents and businesses over the temporary disruption and appealed for understanding while the work is completed.
