The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Wednesday said it has intensified surveillance, health screening, and emergency response measures at international airports across Nigeria to prevent the possible importation of Ebola Virus Disease from Central Africa.
FAAN said the step was taken in collaboration with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Port Health Services, and other health agencies.
According to FAAN spokesperson Henry Agbebire, passengers arriving from high-risk countries are undergoing enhanced screening for Ebola symptoms.
He said any suspected case will be isolated immediately and managed under national and international health protocols.
FAAN urged passengers to remain calm, comply with screening procedures, and report any symptoms, noting that no Ebola case has been confirmed in Nigeria.
