Tinubu Arrives Kenya for Africa-France Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi ahead of the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin on Monday. The presidential aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:15 a.m. local time, according to the State House media office.

Tinubu’s visit to Kenya marks the second leg of his three-nation tour after an earlier stop in France, where he met with global investors and spoke on Nigeria’s economic reforms. The Africa-France Summit will hold from May 11 to May 12 and is co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

The summit is themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”

Discussions at the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action and global financing reforms.

The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation highlights Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with African countries and France. Tinubu is expected to address the summit and outline his administration’s reforms aimed at attracting investment and boosting economic growth in Nigeria.

The President will also hold bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders during the event. After the Kenya summit, Tinubu will travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15.

He is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda visit ahead of the APC presidential primary on May 23.
