Adesanya Targets Comeback Against Imavov at UFC Fight Night 250

Israel Adesanya is ready to make his comeback at UFC Fight Night 250 in Riyadh on Saturday, aiming to break his first-ever consecutive losing streak.

The former two-time UFC middleweight champion has faced setbacks in his career, losing his title to Sean Strickland at UFC 293 and then suffering another defeat to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 last August. Despite these losses, the Nigerian-born New Zealander is confident in his ability to bounce back.

Adesanya has always viewed his career from a broader perspective. “I feel if I lose my next 10 fights it wouldn’t affect my legacy. This fight is important for me, not for anyone else”, he said.

For the first time in six years, the 35-year-old enters the octagon without a UFC championship on the line, but his impressive career record of 24 wins, 16 knockouts, and just four losses gives him a strong foundation to rebuild.

Adesanya has been taking extra measures to prepare for his upcoming fight, including distancing himself from distractions in his personal life. “I just made a few changes just to align more with what I want to get done in this game,” he stated. His commitment to improving his game and focusing on his goals will be key as he faces France’s Nassourdine Imavov.

Imavov, 28, enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak and is eager to extend his unbeaten run to five, which would position him for a future title shot. The French middleweight, nicknamed ‘The Russian Sniper,’ is determined to make a statement in Riyadh, but he will be tested by Adesanya’s experience and skill. Both fighters made weight for the event, hitting the middleweight limit of 185 pounds.
