Nigeria’s First Science Museum Opens May 21

The Nigerian Academy of Science will open Nigeria’s first dedicated science museum on May 21 in Abuja through interactive exhibitions and educational programmes designed to promote scientific learning, research and innovation among students, educators and the public.

The NAS–T.Y. Danjuma Museum and Library, funded by Theophilus Danjuma and commissioned in 2025, will feature science displays, educational resources and hands-on learning activities.

In a statement signed on Friday by NAS President, Abubakar Sambo, and Public Affairs Secretary, Chinedum Babalola, the academy said the facility would support science education and innovation in Nigeria.

The academy added that schools, researchers and organised groups would be able to book tours and exhibitions at the museum.
