Transcorp Power Plc has declared a total dividend of N41.25 billion for the 2025 financial year, following stronger earnings driven by increased power generation and improved operational efficiency.
The company’s Chairman, Emmanuel Nnorom, disclosed this at the firm’s 13th Annual General Meeting in Abuja, stating that shareholders would receive N5.50 per share, comprising an interim dividend of N1.50 and a final dividend of N4.00.
He said revenue rose to N398 billion in 2025 from N305.9 billion in 2024, while profit after tax grew by 14.25 per cent to N91.4 billion, despite inflationary pressures and rising operating costs.
According to Nnorom, the performance reflects cost discipline and improved generation capacity, as the company navigated challenges in gas supply, logistics and maintenance.
Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Peter Ikenga, said available generation capacity increased from 505 megawatts to 625 megawatts during the year, supported by better plant performance and fuel efficiency.
He, however, highlighted ongoing constraints in the power sector, including grid limitations and infrastructure challenges, which continue to affect electricity evacuation.
The company said it maintained stable operations and supported the national grid, while also strengthening gas supply arrangements and exploring diversification of fuel sources.
Transcorp Power added that it remains optimistic about growth prospects, citing ongoing reforms in the electricity sector and plans to expand capacity, improve efficiency and grow regional electricity sales.
