President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said he sold his luxury properties in the United States and the United Kingdom to focus on building businesses in Nigeria, explaining that he now prefers staying in hotels instead of owning mansions abroad.
Dangote disclosed this while speaking about his business philosophy and lifestyle, noting that owning holiday homes creates distractions and unnecessary responsibilities.
“When I decided to go into the industry, I sold all my properties in the US and the UK because I wanted to stay in Nigeria and concentrate,” he said.
The billionaire businessman added that using hotels has made his life simpler and allowed him to remain focused on long-term business goals.
According to him, his investments are guided by clear targets and aimed at reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported goods through local production.
