Nigerian cybersecurity firm SudoForce has won the Cybersecurity Startup of the Year award at the 2026 Cybersecurity Merit Awards in Abuja, organised by the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria, amid rising cyber threats and growing demand for stronger digital security solutions across Africa.
Founder Moses Joshua said the award validates the company’s work since its launch in 2022 but also raises expectations for stronger cybersecurity innovation and response services.
He said SudoForce would deepen its focus on intelligence-led cybersecurity, talent development and its cyber crisis simulation platform, SudoSIM, which helps organisations test preparedness for cyber attacks.
The company also highlighted challenges facing local cybersecurity startups, including low investment and preference for foreign solutions, and called for greater support for indigenous digital security innovations.
