Kogi Central Is APC”: Yahaya Bello’s Homecoming Fires Up Senate Race

Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has returned to Okene for a homecoming rally as preparations intensify for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial election.

The event drew a large crowd of supporters and APC members from across the Central Senatorial District, with party leaders describing the turnout as a demonstration of continued support for the former governor.

Former Kogi State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, said the crowd reflected the former governor’s popularity and grassroots connection.

He said Yahaya Bello’s administration had made significant contributions to the development and security of Kogi Central, adding that the APC was prepared to mobilise support for his senatorial ambition.

“We love him and we have to demonstrate that,” Abdullahi Bello said, while expressing confidence that the APC would support Yahaya Bello’s bid for the Senate.

He also credited the former governor with improving security in the area, saying the peace enjoyed in Kogi Central today was different from the violence experienced in previous years.

Speaking at the event, Yahaya Bello expressed confidence in the continued support of the people for the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Bello said the party had delivered infrastructure and other development projects to the people, insisting that the relationship between the APC and Kogi Central was strong.

He also declared his confidence in the outcome of the forthcoming election, saying:

“I want to assure Mr. President that the election in Kogi State, and Kogi Central in particular, is as good as done 100 per cent for APC.”

The homecoming marks an early display of political mobilisation as parties and aspirants begin preparations ahead of the Kogi Central senatorial contest.
