Kano Government Reaffirms Support for Fulani Community

The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its support for the Fulani community. During a courtesy visit by the Tabital Fulaku International group, Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo emphasised the government’s commitment to helping the Fulani people. He also called for an end to the negative portrayal of the Fulani in the media, recognizing their important role in areas like agriculture, leadership, and security.

Gwarzo stated the significant contributions the Fulani have made to Nigeria, including producing leaders in politics and security. He also pointed out that a Fulani man currently serves as the National Security Adviser. He expressed concern over how the media often misrepresents the Fulani and urged for a more positive and accurate view of the community.

The leader of the Tabital Fulaku International in Nigeria, Alhaji Sanusi Abdullahi Nassarawa, spoke about the group’s mission. He explained that their goal is to unite the Fulani people, modernize their work, and improve education for the younger generation. He also noted that the Fulani are peaceful people who have contributed greatly to Nigeria’s development.

The Deputy Governor encouraged the Fulani leaders to work closely with government officials from their community. He also asked the Federal Government and security agencies to help address the unfair treatment of the Fulani people in the media. He stressed that these negative portrayals harm the Fulani’s reputation and overlook their valuable contributions.

In addition, Gwarzo urged Fulani groups across the country to come together and protect their rights. He also encouraged greater recognition of their role in the country’s growth.
